sin any more’” (Jn. 8:11b). Thought for the day: The God who taught Jesus and whom he witnessed to with his life and his death on the cross is not only the foundation of Christian love of neighbour. He and only he makes possible also a fearless love of God. He gives us the certainty that God is infinitely good to us. Then we can be good to ourselves, to our fellow man and, last but not least, to God. In Jesus God reveals himself as absolute love. Through him we know that God loves every person without distinction, without exception, unconditionally, unreservedly and endlessly. He is our merciful Father who wants to wipe away all guilt, however great it may be. God, who in Jesus Christ became our neighbour, is the only answer to the questions that have always hounded and tortured man: the questions about God, about the meaning of life, about guilt, about death.
