Activity in the Missions

The aim of our activity in the missions is to establish Christian communities which are aware of their responsibility for the local Church and the universal Church and are themselves spreading the Christian message (AG 15).

The major superiors of our Congregation should collaborate closely with the diocesan bishops upon whom rests the responsibility of the missionary planning and execution. The superiors take care that our missionaries are placed as effectively as possible.

With combined effort and under the guidance of the hierarchy, the missionaries should stand up for the equal rights of all men and races.

We consider it a challenge to the Congregation to give witness to a fraternal and universal love which reaches out to people of all races.

The missionaries endeavour to recruit and train men and women from among those with whom they work for positions of service and leadership in the local Church.

The priests see to it that by engaging lay people - especially from the local Church - they free themselves as far as possible for the specific tasks of evangelization.
